Privacy Policy

PlanPilot (“PlanPilot”, “we”, “us”) helps you plan software apps by generating diagrams, wireframes, checklists, prompts and images from your answers. This policy explains what we collect when you use www.planpilot.dev, why, who we share it with, and your choices. Questions: support@planpilot.dev.
1. Information we collect
- Account information — when you sign up (for example with Google), we receive your name, email address and profile picture. We never see or store your password.
- Content you provide — your answers in the planning wizard (app idea, features, brand preferences, technical choices), Quick UML descriptions, error messages you paste into the error-fix tool, and edits you make to generated results.
- Generated content — the diagrams, wireframes, checklists, prompts, tech-stack notes, requirements and images created for your projects.
- Feedback — star ratings, comments, and your answer to whether you would pay for a subscription.
- Usage records — timestamps of generation requests (used for rate limits and plan limits), and for API keys: a one-way hash of the key, its label and when it was last used. We never store your API key itself.
- Billing — if you subscribe, payment is handled by our payment provider. We do not receive or store your card details; we only receive your subscription status and plan.
2. How we use it
- To provide the service: generate, save and show your planning packs and diagrams.
- To run your account, apply your plan's limits and prevent abuse.
- To keep PlanPilot safe: what you ask us to plan is automatically screened by AI for harmful uses (such as malware, scams or stalking tools). If something is flagged, we keep a copy of the flagged text and may review it, and we may suspend accounts that break our Terms of Service.
- To find and fix problems: we log errors and whether generations succeed or fail.
- To improve PlanPilot, using your ratings and feedback.
- To contact you about your account, support requests or feedback you sent us.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
3. AI processing
To generate results, the content you provide (such as your wizard answers or a diagram description) is sent to our AI providers — Anthropic (Claude) for text and diagrams, and Google (Gemini) for images — through their commercial APIs. Under their API terms, these providers do not use API inputs or outputs to train their models. Please don't enter passwords, payment details or other sensitive personal information into PlanPilot.
4. Improvement Program (optional)
If you opt in to the Improvement Program (you can turn it on or off at any time from your account menu), errors you paste into the error-fix tool may be turned into short, generalized “lessons” that help improve future planning packs for all users. Each lesson is written in general terms, does not include your name or app name, and is reviewed by a person before it is ever used. If you don't opt in, nothing from your projects is used this way.
5. Testimonials
We may show a written comment you left with a rating as a testimonial on our homepage, together with your first name. If you'd like a testimonial removed, email us and we'll take it down.
6. Who we share data with
We use these service providers to run PlanPilot, and share only what each needs:
- Clerk — sign-in and account management.
- Supabase — database storing your projects, feedback and usage records.
- Vercel — website hosting.
- Anthropic and Google — AI generation (see section 3).
- Our payment provider — processes subscriptions and payments as the seller of record.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of PlanPilot and its users.
7. Cookies
We use only cookies needed for the site to work: sign-in session cookies (set by Clerk) and two preference cookies that remember your theme (light/dark) and language. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
8. Data retention and deletion
We keep your projects and account data for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual projects and Quick UML diagrams at any time from your dashboard, and they are removed from our database. To delete your account and all associated data, email us at support@planpilot.dev and we will do so within 30 days.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, or to object to how we use it. To make a request, email support@planpilot.dev. We'll respond within 30 days.
10. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Access to the database is restricted to our servers, and each account can only access its own projects. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify affected users of any breach as required by law.
11. International transfers
PlanPilot is operated from Pakistan, and our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries. By using PlanPilot, you understand your information may be processed outside your country.
12. Children
PlanPilot is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we make significant changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email or in the app.
